Travel To France For The Wine
When people think of France naturally the first thing that comes to mind is the wine. France creates more wine every year than any other country. In this article I have identified what I consider to be some of the top areas to visit when travelling to France.
Provence is a great region for those who like to see the sights and taste some exceptional quality of wine. You will find quaint little medieval villages, where Van Gogh once worked.
Bring your white wine glass if you’re on your way to Alasace on the East side of France. You will find that the grapes that are grown in this particular region are the same as that which the Germans use in their own wines.
If you stop off in Bordeaux then you will need to make sure you have a red wine glass for this one. For those who like a sweet white wine these can also be found in Bordeaux. Bordeaux has a coast on the Atlantic and exports a lot of wine to other nations around the world.
You can travel to the Burgandy area if you want to sample both the red and white wines that the country has to offer both of which are produced on a large scale in the area. In Burgandy the main wine produced is red wine. In this region you can find the only wine produced that can be drank within the same year; Beaujolais Nouveau.
When you talk about wine from France everyone knows about Champagne. The region is also the coldest of the wine producing provinces in France. Of course the region is most famous for its sparkling wine however still wine is still produced in this area as well. They have a specially created Champagne glass to get the most from this wine.
If you head over to the Loire Valley you will find mostly white wines, which are predominantly grown along the side of the Loire River. Sauvignon Blanc is made in the Upper Loire valley.
Hopefully this article has given you some ideas of the best places to visit to suit your wine tasting preferences when you travel to France.
